The following is a tentative schedule for Spring 2011, as of the posting date below. The schedule
may be revised from time to time as the list of departmental semiar speakers evolves.

Students must attend one on-campus seminar not at 4:00 on a Tuesday or Thursday and submit at least five multiple choice questions and answers on the topic of the seminar. This assignment is due by email by 11:59 pm on Sunday, April 24.

Lecture 29. Student powerpoint presentations, 5th set, on May in 203 NEL. Powerpoint presentations must be loaded on the computer and tried out after the April 14 class. In-class cumulative exam. The take-home part of the exam is to prepare a posterboard
presentation on the country that is the subject of the paper and powerpoint developed during the term. Posterboard presentations will be due and reviewed on May 4 at a time and location to be specified. For Spring 2009 the presentations were:

Homework assignment #7. Submit to csinger@uiuc.edu by 11:59 pm Sunday, April 3, a complete draft of a paper on the prosptects for nuclear energy in an assigned country, in the context of its history and overall energy use. The scope of this paper should be in between those of the examples from Coutre and from Singer and Taylor previously provided. By 11:59 pm Monday, April 6, submit a carefully self-copy-edited version to Patrick Sloan<psloan@uiuc.edu>.

Homework assignment #8. Submit to csinger@uiuc.edu by 11:59 pm Sunday, April 17, a final draft of a paper on the prospects for nuclear energy in an assigned country, in the context of its history and overall energy use.

Homework assignment #9. Submit to by 3:35 pm Thursday, April 213, hard copy of a final draft of a paper on the prospects for nuclear energy in an assigned country, in the context of its history and overall energy use, triple stabled and two-sided, with 1/2 inch gutters on the stapled margin between covers of stock weight to be specified in class, with the front cover modified from an Adobe In-Design master to be provided.

Homework assignment #10. Submit by email to Patrick Sloan <psloan@illinois.edu> to by 11:59 pm Monday, April 25, a url for a website posting of your paper in pdf format.

Homework assignment #11. Submit by email to Clifford Singer<csinger@uiuc.edu> and David Palmdpalm2@illinois.edu> by 11:59 pm Thursday, April 28, the following:
(a) A revised copy of your paper.
(b) Numbered explanations in the covering email of the reasons for each the corrections on your hard copy connected to a circled black number.
(c) Explanations in each case for any of the other corrections suggested on your hard copy markup that you did not include in your final revision.

Homework assignment #12. Submit by email to Patrick Sloan <psloan@illinois.edu> to by 11:59 pm Sunday, May 3, a url for a website posting that includes links to your paper in pdf format and in html format. For html format there should separate links to each main section of your paper, with any tables and figures on separte web pages.

Homework assignment #13. Submit by email to Patrick Sloan <psloan@illinois.edu> to by 11:59 pm Monday, May 5, an electronic copy of your poster. The poster will be presented between 4-5pm on May 6, at a location about which you will be notified.
